Influx Member. Thanks for asking this Nimesh, being a newbie in the same area too, I've been wondering the same thing. There are a few stations that offer diesel around my waya, and I've been trying to check them out and asking how much diesel they sell and all that. Seems like with my last tank my mileage has gone down, but it's hard to get a good sense of weather it's the quality of the fuel I put in or just that the weather's getting colder And - thanks for the responses to Nimesh's question - being a diesel newb myself, I appreciate hearing your suggestions too.
PeteVinBoston Veteran Member. I have putting in the B5 and it works like a charm. The adventure: it is in a very industrial area and there are MEGA potholes; so you need to watch out!! When in Cambridge are you?? Thank you all for the replies. This is very helpful. This is the first time I am owning a diesel car. PeteVinBoston said:. I live in Charlestown and work in Cambridge near Alewife. It is awesome for mileage. HoneyBeetle Veteran Member. X2 on Irving. Excellent fuel, some of the best in the region.
The dealer gave you advice that's normally given to gasser drivers where it's generally best to stick with the major name brands. With diesel fuel, brand name doesn't matter since the fuel comes from the same regional refinery ies and the tanker trucks get loaded at the same distribution terminals. Diesel fuel is supposed to be all the same but quality does vary so shop around. What's most important is the fuel be fresh and free of water and microbe contamination.
High volume gas stations and truck stops along major routes are best because fuel turnover is the highest and you're always getting the freshest fuel in the region. Whatever you do, avoid stations that rarely get any diesel business, no matter how tempting the slightly lower price per gallon may be. My recommendations: 1. Don't worry about brand name s. Regularly use a diesel fuel additive like PowerService Diesel Fuel Supplement comes in a white bottle as cheap insurance against fuel-related problems.
Gasser business doesn't count. Fuel turnover is highest at these stations and constantly being replaced. The fuel will always be the freshest diesel fuel in the region. Basically buy your fuel where everybody else does in your area. Avoid getting fuel at stations that rarely if ever get any diesel business, no matter how tempting the slightly lower price per gallon may be, even if it means driving a little farther to a high volume station along a major route.
Over time and through experience you'll learn who has the best quality fuel among your favorite high volume stations. Then stick to fueling up only at these stations. Good luck. I found the vehicle I was looking for. Beware of this dealer. Had a contract and finance completed. Someone came and offered them more money and because I was out of state they sold the car out from underneath me. Dealership was great this car sold before I could go see it but bought a different car from this dealership.
Dealer contacted me with detailed information on the car I was looking for.. Transmission: 5-Speed Manual. Replied promptly with my inquiry even though it was after hours. Gave all the pertinent information needed.
Ended up buying from a different dealer but had confidence in taking a mile trip to visit this one. Called and spoke with the owner he was very curtious and helpful with answering all my questions about the vehicle I was potentially interested in. They were very nice but when I said I was from CT he didn't want to have anything to do with us. Basically just told us to go away because dealing with CT was too much hassle for him.
We drove almost 2hrs to get there too. Very frustrating. Best guys ever and they must be puzzle kings Got a great deal and service Would buy from again. The email they sent said that the car was in stock. When I called to make sure, they told me it was arriving in 3 days. Description: Used Volkswagen Golf 2. The dealers were friendly and helpful from the first phone call. The listing and photo were accurate. They had no problem with a pre-puchase inspection and took those recommendations seriously.
They made sure the car was in great shape before we bought it. They say integrity matters to them and it shows in their actions. I am very pleased with my experience with CJ Motors. George was friendly, helpful, and informative. He was straightforward in negotiations and I was happy with the result. He not only was agreeable to my having my mechanic evaluate the car, in fact he suggested it.
I recommend CJ Motors to anyone looking for an honest and easy to work with dealership. The people at the Attleboro Automax were great! From the sales woman to the dealership manager to the financial manager, they made the process easy and enjoyable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a gently used vehicle for a great deal! When they called with the estimate, it was nearly double what another shop had provided, so I tried to….
Weell i went in for an oil change, and a tuneup. Which usually costs around 30 or 40 dollars.. Somehow i ended up paying for the tuneup and the…. Fran is the coolest mechanic. He and his guys are great mechanics.
