The premier audio solutions manufacturer will provide high performance sound systems for Jeep Grand Cherokee. Beginning in the fall of , custom designed, engineered and equalized Boston Acoustics audio systems will be available as factory installed or upgrade options across the Jeep Grand Cherokee family of vehicles. Visteon customizes this control for individual vehicles to provide the most favorable acoustic environment. Via variable noise- and interference-reducing filters, MACH DSP provides an audio system that adapts continuously to maximize reception conditions.
The Grand Cherokee audiophile system is powered by a six channel, watt amplifier with Digital Signal Processing. A total of six speakers are used, including two 3. The amplifier is mounted to the left rear quarter panel behind the quarter trim panel.
The WK Grand Cherokee was treated to the full inside and out upgrade package. Jeep's UConnect infotainment systems provides Bluetooth hands-free calling, a watt six-speaker Boston Acoustics sound system, GPS navigation, screens for the rear passengers, and more.
The WK's interior is a tangible improvement from the WJ's, and a mid-generation refresh in further enhanced the interior's comfortable and technology integration. More than , WK's were sold. Public excitement for the new Grand Cherokee was high and it didn't take long before Grand Cherokee's were practically everywhere. However, like all automotive manufacturers, the "great recession" took a tremendous toll on the WK's sales figures, with sales slowing to just 50, vehicles in Meticulously researched and curated, our comprehensive Jeep WK2 model-year guides illustrate changes from year to year, specifications, available options, and more.
While the SRT-8 tends to get the eye of the enthusiast, the entire engine range for the WK generation was quite potent. Like the Chrysler's of yesterday, there was no shortage of power from their mighty V8's. The 3. While there were undoutedly more exciting engines in the WK's arsenel, the PowerTech V6 was no slouch.
With hp and ft-lb of torque on tap, the aging 4. However, it would be removed from the lineup early into the WK's run as the engine was revised for the model year. The High Output PowerTech V8 boasted a hefty hp and lb-ft of torque, giving the Grand Cherokee an enviable amount of grunt relative to its peers.
Fans of the brand would note that the HO V8 had an on-again off-again appearance on the Grand Cherokee roster. It would be formally retired in The now-legendary 5. The 5. The 6. Maybe i can just use the front left out?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Post by linuxkidd » Wed Jan 17, pm Ok.. The only way to have everything work is to apply the outputs of the Factory AMP into some sort of summation device Like the AudioControl LC6 to sum all the outputs together and produce a single line level output. The problem with this "recommended" setup is that the factory AMP has a pre-set EQ inside to compensate for the crappy speakers that DCX puts in the vehicles. So, even with this summation device, You still inherit the EQ settings and thus will have to tweak the audio to make it sound the best that you can.
The rear speakers seem to have full range audio, so you may consider using the summation on the front channels, and then a regular line level converter on the rear output to have seperate front and rear outputs such that the fade will continue to work If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask! Post by scott » Wed Jan 17, pm Wow! Thanks, you are the man. You have no idea how many people I have tried to get to help on this.
Would it be possible to connect the old wiring harness, complete with can bus wires, 12v wires and ground, but minus the rear speaker wires? Then, I could use the speaker wires' low level signals, unequalized, with a afterfactory amp and ignore the output from the Boston amp. This probably wouldn't work, but it is a question. Post by linuxkidd » Wed Jan 17, pm When the amp is connected, the signal coming from the REC will be Line level, and a nice clean signal.
So, you wouldn't be able to adjust the volume with the REC or steering wheel controls. You would need to have a remote volume control from some sort of gear Maybe a DSP, crossover, or the amps themselves. Carputer Post by egocogitovolo » Sat Mar 24, pm Ok first post but I have been lurking for quite a while I am working on a carputer in a 06 Jeep commander. I am working on not replacing my factory amp and Sirius setup.
